Md-PhD in Endocrinology

We are looking for a Doctoral candidate (Md-PhD student – 100%) in Endocrinology in the laboratory of Prof. Nelly Pitteloud at the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV).

This position is for a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal for a maximum of four years.

The Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Through its collaboration with the University of Lausanne - Faculty of Biology and Medicine and the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the CHUV plays a leading role in the fields of medical care, medical research, and training.

The Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism service (Department of Medicine) is launching a multi-centric randomized double-blind clinical trial to evaluate the impact of a hormonal treatment (gonadorelin) on cognition and other clinical, biological, and imaging parameters in patients with trisomy 21 based on a promising pilot study (Manfredi-Lozano M et al., Science, 2022). The candidate will help carry out the clinical study in a multidisciplinary environment.

• As a member of our team, you will carry out clinical visits of patients at the CHUV Centre including cognitive tests.
• You will be in charge of the recruitment of patients and inclusion visits.
• You will participate in the investigations of patients recruited from other centers (Basel, Geneva - Regular transit between recruitment centers expected).
• You will do analyses of the samples and data.

• You have a Diploma in medicine; at least 1 year of clinical experience is preferred.
• You are fluent in French, English, and German.
• You have organizational skills and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
