The University of Lucerne is a modern, personal and dynamic human sciences university at the heart of Switzerland and Europe. In keeping with our guiding principle 'Moving Human Sciences', we focus on people and their institutions with our six faculties, two academies and two university research centres. Our aim is to develop the University of Lucerne into a pioneering, internationally visible centre for research and teaching in the human sciences.

The new Faculty of Behavioural Sciences and Psychology focuses on innovative research projects that support professional care in Switzerland and contribute to Lucerne's positioning as an international research hub on human sciences. The faculty offers courses at both the bachelor's and postgraduate levels and will begin offering a Master's degree programme in 2027. In the future, the faculty will also feature state-of-the-art behavioural science laboratories and a psychotherapy clinic.

As the holder of this position, you will be responsible for the field of Developmental Psychology with a special focus on healthy ageing. You will teach the undergraduate course in Developmental Psychology and gradually take on other courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. You will actively participate in the further design and detailed planning of the curriculum, develop an innovative research program with international outreach, and help in establishing a doctoral program.

We expect applicants to have relevant publications (peer-reviewed) in their field of research, proven teaching expertise, and experience in acquiring competitive third-party funding. Your program of research will complement and extend the expertise of the faculty. Besides the professional qualifications, you are characterized by a high degree of integration skills. You will actively participate in the university's self-governing bodies and are open to interfaculty cooperation in teaching and research.

German language skills at level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages should be present or must be acquired within a reasonable period of time.
