Software Engineering Manager

I am partnered with a leading Robotics Start-up who are searching for a talented Software Engineering Manager to lead the software development function. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and nurture a team of software engineers
  • Coordinate resource allocation to ensure projects are completed on schedule, addressing challenges in collaboration with project management teams.
  • Make architectural decisions and support the team in building technical proficiency.
  • Develop all phases of software development, from gathering requirements and designing solutions to implementation, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Develop and implement standards, tools, and methodologies to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Contribute to long-term strategy as part of the engineering leadership group.
  • Actively participate in software development tasks where needed.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Leadership experience managing software teams in industrial or technical settings.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and fostering professional growth in junior engineers.
  • In-depth understanding of software development practices and quality assurance protocols.
  • Strong analytical and software design skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Hands-on experience with several of the following technologies: C++, Python, Typescript, React, nVidia Jetson, Linux, Windows, iOS, Android, networking protocols, databases, video streaming, cloud full-stack development (GCP)
  • A proactive mindset, adaptability, and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
