Senior Accountant (m/f/d)
Responsibilities & QualificationsAs a Senior Accountant at Novelis Europe, you'll oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process for 12 entities, while advising on technical accounting and SOX compliance. You'll also review Novelis AG's financial statements, manage audits, and drive process improvements. You will report directly to the Manager Finance with the following responsibilities:
What awaits you:
- You coordinate the monthly, quarterly and annual Novelis Europe financial closing process (consolidation of 12 reporting entities) and prepare the analytical reviews and US GAAP deliveries.
- You advise European accounting teams in technical accounting, account reconciliations and SOX.
- You review Novelis AG’s financial statements (US GAAP & Swiss GAAP), including SOX and policy compliance.
- You provide deliverables to the external audit company during interim and annual audits (Novelis AG) and quarterly European reviews.
- You are responsible for planning, forecasting and reporting of Novelis AG financials.
- You are responsible for the quarterly European contract reviews to identify content that requires special accounting treatment.
- You propose process improvements and automate existing processes.
How you convince us:
- You hold a university degree in finance, accounting or a related field.
- You bring at least 3 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in a multinational environment.
- You have a strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP or IFRS & Swiss GAAP) and practices.
- You are proficient in MS Excel and you have experience with consolidation systems – OneStream is a plus.
- You are business fluent in English – knowledge of German is a plus.
- You are able to communicate confidently and effectively with a wide range of people internationally and all levels of the organization.
