The Power Hub Zug association aims to help Ukrainian refugees with protection status S in Switzerland to find employment. Through an individual mentoring approach and the organization of job search trainings, we empower our participants to find employment, realize their professional potential and regain their self-confidence and financial independence.

Our mentors form a community of currently around 80 professionals living in Switzerland. Since mid-2022, we have already helped over 240 Ukrainians with status S in the canton of Zug and neighbouring cantons to integrate into the local labour market. All participants in the Power Hub Zug association work on a voluntary (unpaid) basis.

Your responsibilities as a Volunteer Mentor:
  • Work 1:1 with your assigned Ukrainian participant(s) on a regular basis (weekly) to help them develop a job search strategy and apply for selected jobs.
  • Provide advice on the application process (e.g. tailoring CV, motivation letter, interview preparation).
  • Share your professional experience of the Swiss labour market and provide your mentee with professional advice and motivation.
  • Report regularly on your progress with the assigned mentee(s) using a progress report form.
As a Volunteer Mentor, you should:
  • Have your own work experience in Switzerland.
  • Be willing to commit at least 2 hours per week to your mentee(s) between September and November 2025.
  • Strive to find a balance between providing gentle but ongoing motivation and igniting the mentee's inner drive to overcome fears and language barriers in the application process.
  • Have the ability to recognise and deal with cultural differences, refrain from judgements and give feedback in a constructive and positive way.
  • Speak one of the following languages: English, German, Ukrainian or Russian.
