The International School of Ticino is seeking to appoint a science teacher with DP chemistry to join us for September 2024. For the right candidate, there is the possibility of becoming the Head of Science.

Candidates should be well qualified and experienced in the teaching of science, with experience of teaching DP Chemistry a requirement. The successful candidate should also be committed to high standards, interested in using innovative and inquiry-based approaches to learning, and be enthusiastic about promoting international understanding.

The ideal candidate would be excited by the opportunity to help continue to grow an IB school and experienced in teaching a range of ages and abilities across the entire secondary school age range (11-18 years).

The contract is a permanent contract and our location offers the opportunity to live on Lake Lugano in Switzerland or Lake Como in Italy.

Essential characteristics for IST applicants:

1. To be in possession of a university degree in a related subject and an appropriate teaching qualification.
2. To have had recent, demonstrable experience teaching secondary within the 11-18 age range.
3. To be an enthusiastic and passionate teacher with a love of teaching and the ability to convey this successfully to students.
4. To be an EU passport holder or already be in possession of a valid visa that enables to work in Switzerland.
5. Previous experience with IB programmes is required. Further IB training will be offered, together with relocation assistance.
