For our customer, a big pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are looking for a Senior Process Engineer (m/f/d).
Background:
Support of the technical development of isolation processes of peptides. The position is in the particle design department of solid state science.
The perfect candidate: We are looking for an experienced hands-on process engineer who has proven experience in isolation of synthetic molecules (small molecules, peptides) and development of the corresponding industrial processes. The person needs to be self-driven, organized, and capable of communicating with internal and external stakeholders. Internal lab work and external strategy creation and implementation for industrial commercial processes will be part of the position.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Support of in-house team in the development and optimization of isolation processes for synthetic molecules (precipitation, crystallization, spray drying, lyophilisation)
- On-site support for the implementation of processes in production
- Consultation with third-party companies on process development and the implementation of processes in production
- Preparation of filing documents
Must Haves:
- PhD or further education as chemist or process engineer
- Min. 5 years of experience in the development of industrial crystallization processes
- Familiarity with downstream process development such as filtration, drying, or spray drying, and the development of the corresponding technical manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with solid state analysis and characterization techniques
- Experience in the development of commercial processes for the crystallization/precipitation of peptides including isolation and spray drying, or freeze drying is an advantage
- Fluency in English needed, German is an advantage
- Strong communication skills and team player
- Ability to think outside the box and analytical mindset
