Project: For our customer, a big pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are looking for a Senior Process Engineer (m/f/d).

Background: Support of the technical development of isolation processes of peptides. The position is in the particle design department of solid state science.

The perfect candidate: We are looking for an experienced hands-on process engineer who has solid experience in isolation of peptides and crystallization processes. The person needs to be self-driven and organized with the capability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Internal lab work and external strategy creation and implementation for industrial commercial processes will be part of the position.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  1. Support of in-house team in the development and optimisation of isolation processes for peptides (precipitation, crystallisation, spray drying, lyophilisation)
  2. Collaboration in strategy development for the isolation of peptides
  3. Consultation with third-party companies on process development for peptide isolation and the implementation of processes in production
  4. On-site support for the implementation of processes in production
  5. Preparation of filing documents

Must Haves:

  1. PhD or further education as Chemist or process engineer, with strong knowledge of peptides
  2. Min. 5 years of experience as process engineer in the development of industrial crystallization processes and proficiency with peptide analysis and characterization techniques
  3. Proven experience (hands-on) in the development of commercial processes for the crystallization/precipitation of peptides including isolation and drying
  4. Experience drafting corresponding NDA/MAA applications
  5. Familiarity with downstream process development such as spray drying or freeze drying and the development of the corresponding technical manufacturing processes
  6. Fluency in English needed; German is an advantage
  7. Strong communication skills and team player
  8. Ability to think outside the box and analytical mindset
