Are you ready to take on a key role in a dynamic company?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated person for the position of Operations Supervisor, who will lead the operational daily business and contribute to the success of our company.

In this responsible position, you will manage a versatile team consisting of three office employees, a warehouse manager, and two to three drivers.

You will be the link between different departments and ensure smooth operations in our daily business. As an ideal candidate, you bring leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and a pronounced organizational talent.

You think solution-oriented, work structured, and keep an overview even in hectic situations.

Among your main tasks are:

• Monitoring the operational daily business to ensure smooth handling of pharmaceutical special shipments by air and road (dangerous goods transport, transport with active and/or passive cooling containers, shipments with liquid nitrogen containers, transport of live animals, etc.)
• Ensuring compliance with all company rules, internal departmental work instructions, processes, systems, etc.
• Supporting employees in solving problems and completing tasks. This may also include the direct execution of work.
• First escalation point for resolving incidents and/or deviations in the operational daily business.
• Ensuring personnel resources for daily operations by managing the employee duty roster, including approval of absences such as vacation, overtime compensation, etc., as well as fair and even distribution of on-call duties on weekends and holidays. If necessary, taking over the complete shift for team members during absences.
• Taking over on-call duty on weekends and holidays together with other assigned employees.
• Close collaboration with the Continuous Improvement Manager and/or supervisors or other colleagues to develop and implement feasible and possible improvements in workflows, work processes, and efficiency within your area of responsibility and in accordance with company and departmental goals.
• Deputizing for the Operations Manager.
• Supporting the Operations Manager in recruiting, onboarding, training, and annual performance evaluation of employees in the Operations Department.
• Collaborating with local management to investigate quality incidents and develop corrective actions, including the subsequent implementation of approved corrective actions.

Your Profile

• At least 3 years of experience in leading a team.
• Professional experience in the premium courier/pharma supply chain sector and/or air freight.
• Vocational training as a freight forwarding merchant or commercial vocational training with professional experience in the forwarding/logistics industry and/or supply chain – desired Bachelor/Diploma in logistics or supply chain management.
• Native German speaker and very good English (minimum B2 level) in spoken and written (additional languages are an advantage).
• Team player with a high sense of responsibility.
• Speedy, organized, and accurate working style.
• Ability to set priorities correctly in a fast-paced environment.
• Good PC and MS Office skills.

Experience in the field of pharma supply chain (GxP).
