Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Software Engineering to lead our software engineering efforts at Nexxiot. In this leadership role, you will define the technology roadmap, drive the development of globally scalable IoT platforms, and oversee SaaS-based analytics solutions and AI-driven insights.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in cloud and IoT technologies, combined with experience in selling SaaS-based data products to enterprise customers. You will lead and inspire multiple engineering teams, each specializing in different technical domains, while collaborating closely with Product Management and Hardware to align the technology development with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute Nexxiot's IoT software architecture and cloud technology roadmap.
  • Build a scalable and resilient architecture that supports the growth and reliability of our IoT platforms.
  • Lead distributed teams in data ingress, IoT middleware, SaaS, cloud platforms, and AI-powered analytics.
  • Ensure the implementation of best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ensure timely delivery of software products and client commitment.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to shape the software roadmap.
  • Drive the product strategy for SaaS-based data solutions.
  • Drive innovation in AI and real-time data analytics.
Selling SaaS & Data Products
  • Work closely with sales and business development teams to drive the adoption of SaaS-based data analytics solutions.
  • Understand customer needs and translate them into scalable and marketable software offerings.
  • Enhance APIs, SDKs, and integration tools to ensure seamless customer adoption.
  • Lead, grow, and mentor multiple high-performing, geographically distributed software engineering teams, ensuring alignment with Nexxiot's strategic vision and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, innovative, and continuous improvement-driven environment, where team members are encouraged to push boundaries and drive technological advancement.
  • Manage and strengthen vendor relationships and strategic partnerships, ensuring seamless integration and long-term success.
Key Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 4+ years in IoT, SaaS, or cloud-based solutions.
  • Proven experience in leading distributed software teams and delivering large-scale IoT or AI-powered platforms.
  • Strong technical expertise in AWS Cloud, Kafka, Kotlin, Kubernetes and real-time event driven data processing.
  • Strong technical and people leadership, architectural and strategic thinking, and business acumen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, or industrial IoT industries.
  • Previous experience as a Head of Software in a SaaS or IoT company.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based data products, API monetization, and enterprise software sales.
  • Experience building, scaling, and selling SaaS-based data (analytics) solutions.
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or similar.
