ASAP: Full-Time Nanny in Neuchâtel - Live-in or Live-out - Long-Term Role

An English-speaking family in central Neuchatel is looking for a full-time Nanny to start immediately. The family has a 3-year-old girl and is expecting a baby in mid-April or earlier. They will have a maternity nurse for the first 12 weeks.

Location: Central Neuchatel
Start Date: Immediately
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-9 am to 6 pm. 40-50 hours per week
Conditions: Live-out, or live-in, nearby accommodation can be provided - to be discussed with the candidate.
Language required: English fluent.
Pets: The family has a small dog so the candidate must be fine around animals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Childcare: Provide attentive and nurturing care for a 3-year-old child, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. The mother is expecting a second child in April, so assistance will be required with the second child after the maternity nurse leaves.
  • School Runs: Manage drop-offs and pick-ups from school, ensuring punctuality to the child's schedule.
  • Laundry: Handle all laundry tasks related to the children, including washing, drying, ironing, and organising clothing.
  • Cooking: Prepare nutritious and balanced meals and snacks tailored to dietary needs and preferences.
  • Entertainment and Development: Engage in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and good manners.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Organise and accompany the 3-year-old to various activities, such as sports, music lessons, or playdates.
  • Travel Assistance: Be available to travel with the family during holidays, providing continuous care and support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland: Swiss Permit with preference or EU passport
  • Previous experience in childcare, especially with infants
  • Letters of recommendation or job certificates that we can verify
  • Fluent in English.
  • Dynamic, reliable, trustworthy, and patient
  • Willingness to travel with the family when needed
  • Flexibility for occasional extra babysitting
  • Driving License: Not necessary - but a plus if obtained
  • Pet friendly. The family has a small dog.

If you are applying for a live-out position, you must already reside in Neuchatel or nearby. For live-in applicants, please note that we can only consider candidates who currently live in Europe and hold a European passport.

Benefits:

  • Long-term contract
  • CHF 4,600 - CHF 5,000 gross per month, depending on experience, qualifications and whether accommodation needs to be provided.
  • The family is open to providing a private studio in the area if the candidate prefers to work live-in. There is a deduction of CHF 990- salary in kind for accommodation and food.
