IT Lead for Finance

vor 2 Monaten

Genf, Schweiz Cagi Vollzeit

Médecins Sans Frontières is an independent, international medical and humanitarian organization that provides care to people in need, affected by natural or man-made disasters, and victims of armed conflict, without discrimination and without regard to race, religion, creed or political affiliation (MSF Charter).

Finance and Human resources field workers at MSF have long relied on a legacy system based on Excel, supplemented with Visual Basic (VB) scripts and macros, to manage budgets, forecasts, and allocation of staff. While this system has served its purpose over the years, it is increasingly becoming evident that it cannot keep pace with the evolving demands of modern finance and human resources operations and increased security in IT systems. The incumbent will lead a project that will transform how field operations are managed in the finance and HR domains.

The IT Lead will liaise between the business side of the project and the IT department and software vendor. S/he will participate in specification workshops and translate business needs into technical tasks.

S/he will design, configure, and test the solution based on a framework that will be chosen after a challenge between a few software vendors.

S/he will ensure good integration of the new solution with the MSF information system (design and build of interface, end-to-end tests, …)

Responsibilities
  • Ensure delivery of project IT components in line with defined quality standards.
  • Coordinate and lead technical matters between external vendors, internal IT team, and SMEs in finance and human resources domains.
  • Ensure the availability and quality of the solution.
  • Define and execute technical testing strategy.
  • Manage releases content, planning, and delivery.
  • Coordinate IT department and partners' involvement and tasks.
  • Deliver documentation and formal reporting.
  • Provide support to end-users for the effective use of applications.
  • Ensure coherence and good cooperation within the project team and alignment of different stakeholders and departments.
Your Profile

Education

  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
  • Project Management Certification preferred.

Experience

  • Experience with innovative development projects, including the ability to manage the process from vague requirements to a defined project.
  • Strong experience managing data flow in a heterogeneous information system.
  • Technically competent with various software programs, including but not limited to ERP, accounting systems, Excel, and PowerBI.
  • Culture of data flow, data storage, and data usage.
  • Skills or strong interest in finance and HR forecasting in a decentralized context.
  • User-oriented, capable of creating solutions within the frame of project charter.
  • Ability to adapt to change and manage different stakeholders’ expectations successfully.
  • Able to deliver in an international and multicultural environment.
  • Accountability: Proven ability to demonstrate a drive for results and accountability of business needs.

Languages

  • Fluency in French and English is required, with good written and oral communication skills.
  • Any additional language is a plus.

Personal Abilities/Qualities

  • Strong in building bridges between different disciplines and organizational levels.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute many tasks in parallel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce clear and concise written documents.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Patient but strong personality, able to resolve conflicts of interest.
  • Strong analytical skills and creative methods to solve problems.
  • Excellent ability to work in a multicultural environment successfully and to demonstrate commitment and support for diversity, gender-responsive, inclusive, and non-discriminatory behavior and attitudes.
Terms of Employment
  • Full-time position 100% (40h/week).
  • Gross annual salary (for 100%): from CHF 101,172 to CHF 115,332 (salary commensurate with equivalent experience and internal salary grid).
  • Paid vacation: 25 days per year, prorated, plus any Swiss public holidays falling within the contract period.
  • Pension plan: pension contribution covered 3/4 by MSF, 1/4 by the staff member.
  • Relocation package if moving from a different country to Switzerland.
