TPL Mechanic

Job Title: TPL Mechanic

Location: Visp, Switzerland

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced TPL (Technical Project Lead) Mechanic to join our team for an exciting project in the pharmaceutical sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the mechanical aspects of project design, implementation, and maintenance to ensure efficient and compliant production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring adherence to Lonza's technical standards.
2. Participate in safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
3. Develop and update user requirement specifications (URS) and technical specifications (TS).
4. Perform line sizing calculations, restriction orifice sizing, and develop P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
5. Generate and maintain process data sheets and other relevant documentation.
6. Collaborate closely with the technical team during design phases, FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), SATs (Site Acceptance Tests), and commissioning.
7. Ensure successful installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ) of mechanical systems.
8. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical systems during the operational phase.
9. Continuously improve mechanical processes and procedures in compliance with safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality requirements.

Key Requirements:

1. Proven experience in mechanical engineering and project management, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech company.
2. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chillers, and other utilities.
3. Proficiency in developing and interpreting P&IDs and process data sheets.
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
5. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
6. Proficiency in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
7. Knowledge of GMP compliance requirements is preferred.
