WinGD is looking for a Control Software Engineer, Integrated Energy Systems WinGD is seeking a Control Software Engineer to develop a control solutions for marine integrated energy systems. In this role, you will work with control strategies, real-time systems, and industrial automation technologies to enhance energy efficiency and system performance. You will play a key role in designing, simulating, and validating control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink, conducting Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing, and integrating third‑party components such as batteries, fuel cells, shaft generators, and electrical drives. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in marine electrical and hybrid propulsion systems, but professionals from automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation sectors with relevant expertise are also encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement control software for marine energy systems using a model‑based approach. Design, simulate, and validate control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink. Conduct SiL and HiL testing to ensure control software reliability. Integrate third‑party supplier components into the energy system. Integrate advanced control strategies. Travel to customer and project sites to perform commissioning of developed software solutions. Perform on‑site functional testing, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system performance meets project specifications. Support field testing and optimize system performance during commissioning phases. Ensure compliance with marine industry standards and safety regulations. Contribute to the development of digital twins and simulation environments. Requirements Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Eagerness to learn and innovate in the marine energy sector. Professional Skills Hands‑on experience in model‑based software development using MATLAB/Simulink. Strong background in control system design, optimization, and real‑time implementation. Experience in SiL and HiL testing. Knowledge of electrical drive technologies, preferably in the marine sector. Understanding of industrial communication protocols (CAN, Modbus). Experience in integrating third‑party components (batteries, fuel cells, engines, electrical drives) into an energy management system is a plus. Languages Fluent in English (written and spoken). Education Master’s (MSc) or Bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, Electrical Machines, Electrical Automation Control, or a related field.
