Product Designer Prototypes

• As part of the Engineering team at the Innovation Office, you will be responsible for design for manufacturing of prototypes of new innovative concepts for miniaturized sensors.
• Design and follow up till production of prototypes of optical modules/sensors/others for demonstrators of new proof of principle and mechanical parts for optical set-ups.
• Design mechatronic set-ups for optical sensor and optical component characterization.
• Design proof of concept for optical sensors and components.
• Configuration control, organization of the designs and versioning of the mechanical designs.
• Coordinate internal and external manufacturers to discuss steps from design and quotation request to final deployment of the set-up/parts/prototypes.
• Contribute to design and 3D print in-house of prototypes and small engineering parts.
• Documentation of the designs, interface with stakeholders and requirement tracking from design to validation of the set-up/designs.

• Bachelor's / Master's Degree in mechanical design, product design, design engineering, etc.
• Several years of experience with product design for mass production and fast prototyping. Examples of products: integrated sensors, wearables, AR/VR devices, laser illuminators, optical assemblies, etc.
• Experience with basic packaging and manufacturing techniques is a plus: wire bonding, die attach, active alignment, dicing, curing, cleaning, plasma treatments, wafer level optics, etc.
• Advanced experience with SolidWorks. Experience with PLM software suites is a plus.
• Experience with PCB design and manufacturing is a plus (Altium or KiCAD). Experience with system engineering processes is beneficial.
• Interest in optics, sensors for consumer electronics, automotive, robotics, and industrial areas.
• Ability to manage priorities of multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment combined with attention to detail and an innovative mindset.
• Fluency in English to communicate with internal or global stakeholders.
