Barry Callebaut is on a mission to deliver the world’s best chocolate & cocoa solutions across both the most iconic consumer brands as well as the little bakeries around the corner. We are the global market leader with a worldwide presence across the entire chocolate & cocoa value chain – from tree to tanker truck. We have delivered remarkable growth over the past 25 years, and we are now embarking on the next chapter of this exciting journey with the recent launch of our strategic investment program, BC Next Level.
Barry Callebaut’s Global Strategy team is a small, highly specialized group that sits at the heart of the BC Next Level strategy. This team advises our CEO and the Executive Leadership Team on the long-term strategic direction of the company as a whole, and it guides strategic initiatives of major significance. This team broadly focuses on three areas: Organic growth, Inorganic growth and Value creation.
By being part of the Global Strategy team based in the Global HQ in Zurich, you will be at the center of the world’s largest chocolate & cocoa company during the execution of a wide-ranging business transformation while the chocolate & cocoa industry navigates historic disruptions and makes a significant shift towards a more sustainable future. As a Director of Global Strategy, you will work closely with the Head of Global Strategy to drive strategic projects that “move the needle.” You will be responsible for developing quantitative & qualitative analysis that address high-priority, cross-functional strategic topics globally. You will develop thought leadership on the future state of the industry and assess game-changing moves. You will provide counsel to senior executives on significant business decisions (e.g., acquisitions, partnerships, portfolio changes, etc.).
Key Responsibilities include

Support Head of Global Strategy in developing the corporate strategy

Manage delivery of key strategic projects by working collaboratively with various stakeholders
-
Support strategic planning processes and monitor delivery of strategy
-
Contribute to decision making on strategic targets for the business and support strategic KPI tracking
-
Assess strategic questions through qualitative & quantitative frameworks and methods
-
Develop understanding & monitor customers, competitors, partners, business models, markets, and trends
-
Develop understanding of own business, strategic priorities, competitive position, gaps, and opportunities
-
Deliver macro-level market-based insights by gathering and interpreting information from various sources
-
Contribute & challenge business partners to inform strategic decision making
-
Communicate and advocate strategic priorities & insights across the business
About you
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a leading university in Business, Finance, Economics, or Liberal Arts
-
8+ years of experience in corporate strategy, strategic consulting or similar strategy role
-
Experience in the consumer goods industry is valuable
-
Excellent English language skills (spoken and written)
-
Previous experience in a high-performance organization is a must
