Our Coffee Team is based in our Swiss office (Lausanne) which is supported by a Shipping Team that provides vital support to the Trade Desk by delivering our trade/contracts to our customers and suppliers.
About the Role
We are looking for a Shipping Specialist to work with the Coffee Trade team. The individual will be responsible for the physical shipments of coffee to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide logistic support to our customers and Origin countries
- Manage the logistic operations
- Monitor shipments, agreements, and all related documentation
- Check forwarders and shipping companies’ invoices
- Check & process invoices for payment and liaise with the Accounts team
- Process bank presentations & LC’s
- Organise timely deliveries to clients
- Provide shipping instructions and instructions to warehouse keepers
- Follow up on sampling, dispatch, and results
- Follow up on claims
- Follow up on inventory with warehouse keepers
Qualifications and Required Skills
- Holder of a Swiss Commercial Certificate of Capacity or similar education
- STSA Operator's Certificate is a strong asset
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commodities logistics, ideally in coffee or another soft commodity
- Rigorous, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Highly organized with the ability to track and manage a variety of shipments within a busy period
- Proactive, with excellent communication skills and team spirit
- Fluent in French and English; Spanish is a plus
