FAST Development Program-Field Applications Engineer

This role is open for Zurich, Switzerland.
Upon successful completion of this track in the FAST development program, rotators are welcomed as Field Application Engineers on TI’s worldwide Sales & Applications team.
As a Field Applications Engineer you will:
- Act as a technical consultant to solve design challenges with the TI portfolio to become a trusted advisor for your customers.
- Understand the basics of analog circuitry:
- op-amps
- DC/DC power
- data converters
- sensing
- Build up specific knowledge in your customers' applications and relevant TI portfolio to make system-level proposals to maximize TI's revenue.
- Create and understand block diagrams based on your customers' applications.
- Build up relationships with your customers, focusing on the engineering departments.
- Leverage market knowledge and data insights to discover business opportunities and develop creative ways to discover new opportunities.
Your start as a Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be through our FAST development program:
TI’s FAST (Field Applications & Sales Training) Development Program is designed to prepare Sales & Applications team members for customer-oriented careers that pair technical skills with business perspectives. The program's goal is to provide hands-on experience in the role of a FAE while offering training and mentorship. During the program, you will have access to different departments and gain insights into the long-term development opportunities at TI.
The track includes two rotations:
- Rotation 1, Field Sales Office (FSO), 6 months: The FSO rotation is centered on learning how to work directly with customers to solve technical challenges and maximize TI’s revenue by providing systems-level solutions that best address their design needs.
- Rotation 2, Systems Engineering & Marketing (SEM) in Freising, Germany, 5 months: The SEM rotation provides hands-on experiences that help future FAEs understand how various TI components fit together for customer designs.

Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field.
- Fluent in local language and English, both written and oral communication skills.
- Basic understanding of semiconductors, electrical systems, schematics, and analog components.
- Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry.
- Be passionate about solving technical challenges and enjoy having technical conversations with external and internal counterparts.

- Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a competitive mindset and a results-focus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills along with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and build strong relationships.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to a changing environment.
