As part of exciting growth, we are looking for a Production Manager to join our Operations Team based in Zurich. The primary purpose of the Production Manager is to be responsible for production meeting customer demand on time, to quality and on budget. You will also lead continuous improvement to show improving cost, efficiency, quality and lead time.

What we are looking for:

  1. A master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics
  2. Several years of experience in managing the production and testing of complex high-tech products.
  3. Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques with a proven track record of delivering positive cost, quality and performance results
  4. Demonstrated ability to utilise structured problem-solving methodologies.
  5. Knowledge of Project Management techniques and experience leading cross functional project teams.
  6. Computer literate with experience of using ERP/MRP systems such as production routings and BOM Structures.
  7. Knowledge in nanoindentation, atomic force microscopy, vacuum systems or electron microscopy (highly advantageous)

Key responsibilities:

  1. To ensure that output is aligned to the agreed delivery date to the customer
  2. To ensure that the product meets the required quality standard
  3. Manage the Manufacturing Team and support them in meeting their goals and objectives
  4. Identify staffing levels and training needs necessary in maximising production efficiency
  5. Identify tools and equipment necessary to perform tasks as required
  6. Lead a culture of continuous improvement and actively encourage participation.
  7. Work closely with NPI to ensure the smooth introduction of new products, upgrades, and production changes
  8. Measure, analyse and report KPI’s relevant to your area
  9. Ensure that Standard Operating Procedures are up to date and that they are being used to ensure the consistent quality of products
  10. Work closely with the Quality, Materials, Facilities and Engineering managers to ensure that the operations goals and objectives are met
  11. Manage the ERP/MRP system and ensure the accuracy of the inventory.
  12. Root cause analysis of field/production failures to enable corrective action to be taken to prevent reoccurrence
  13. Lead development of Supply chain improvement and continuous improvement projects affecting Cost, Quality and Delivery
  14. Develop key suppliers and implement key supplier Long Term Agreements in line with the agreed strategy.
  15. Ensure the well-being of staff and promote an atmosphere of teamwork and positive attitude towards meeting goals and objectives
  16. Implement and maintain all relevant Environmental and Health & Safety policies
  17. Carry out any other tasks which may reasonably be requested by the company
