Job Purpose

The Assembly Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient assembly of medical devices while actively participating in executing and optimizing existing processes. Tasked with performing assembly duties and leveraging engineering insights to refine manufacturing procedures, this role significantly contributes to maintaining top-notch quality and efficiency in production.

This position demands a proactive individual who can seamlessly transition between executing assembly tasks and driving process adherence. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of hands-on assembly proficiency, technical acumen, and a commitment to continuous improvement to bolster efficiency and quality in medical device manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute hands-on assembly tasks, adhering to standardized procedures to construct medical devices accurately and efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing assembly operations, suggesting improvements to streamline workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of assembly processes and adherence to established procedures.
  • Perform tests and inspections on assembled components or devices to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain records and create traceability documents for assembled components or devices, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Address assembly challenges by providing technical expertise to resolve issues and maintain process consistency.
  • Monitor and upkeep assembly equipment, conducting routine maintenance and reporting any anomalies or malfunctions.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams to facilitate new product introductions or process alterations, providing insights from an execution standpoint.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent vocational training in precision mechanics or a related field.
  • Proven experience of 5+ years in assembly operations, preferably within regulated industries such as medical devices, automotive, defence, or aerospace.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Familiarity with assembly techniques, tools, and precision assembly equipment.
  • Proficiency in applying engineering principles to enhance execution of assembly processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in executing assembly tasks while upholding quality standards.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities to address assembly challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment with engineers and other departments.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, assembly instructions, and documentation.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities, adept multitasking, and efficient time management in a fast-paced production setting.
