A Senior Data Engineer role has become available at a Swiss firm leader in their field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Python, SQL, and Azure technologies such as Data Factory and Databricks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand data requirements, and translate them into efficient and reliable data solutions.
- Develop and optimize data models and database schemas to support data analytics and reporting needs.
- Manage and monitor data infrastructure and ensure data availability, integrity, and security.
- Utilize DevOps practices to automate and streamline data engineering workflows and deployments.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to data engineering, and evaluate their potential application in the organization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the data engineering team.
Profile:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong background in Python programming and SQL.
- Experience with Azure cloud services, including Data Factory, Databricks.
- Solid understanding of ETL principles and best practices, with hands-on experience in designing and implementing ETL processes.
- Cloud DWH experience with Snowflake.
- Proficiency in using Databricks for data pipelines.
- Familiarity with MLflow for managing and tracking machine learning experiments and models.
- Strong understanding of database concepts, data modeling, and database design principles.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data engineering issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Fluent English speaking skills.
