Program Manager Control Modernization MV Drives 80-100%

Your Role And Responsibilities In this role you will oversee the implementation of product development for the portfolio of Service MV Drives and manage modernization projects to migrate from previous Medium Voltage Drives control technology to the new control platform. Your organizational and technical skills will ensure high‑quality results and timely releases, while your project management and customer focus guarantee continuous alignment with stakeholders. By collaborating closely with the R&D, Lifecycle Management and Product Management teams, you will create synergies and improve the organization. The work model for the role is hybrid. Accountability Manage projects in accordance with the ABB R&D gate model and report progress using dedicated tools (e.g., NORRD, Planisware). Ensure timely and cost‑effective completion of projects, coordinating with customer pilot projects and other modernization initiatives. Contribute to technical analysis, decision‑making, and implementation in modernization projects, leveraging extensive technical skills in the portfolio and its applications. Perform project peer reviews and design verifications in line with applicable standards and engineering guidelines, ensuring documentation complies with established processes. Qualifications For The Role Master’s degree in electrical engineering, information technology, or an equivalent qualification. Minimum eight years of experience in an industrial environment such as the power and energy sector. Sound knowledge of R&D project leadership and applications related to medium‑voltage drives. Familiarity with medium‑voltage drive control platforms. Proficient interdisciplinary leadership skills with effective stakeholder engagement across global and local teams. Solution‑focused mindset with effective written and spoken communication skills in English; knowledge of German is an advantage.
