Mechanical design engineer

Position

As a start-up of ETH Zurich, we are developing an instrument that can measure biomolecular binding mechanisms. This is used in the pharmaceutical industry, in cell and gene therapy, and in process control of bioreactors. Since March 2023, we are part of Miltenyi Biotec, a global provider of products and services for biomedical research and therapy.

Description

So far, our device has been developed with a lot of support from external partners. For the insourcing, we are looking for a mechanical designer (level Fachhochschule) with strong manual skills. Responsibilities include:

1. Creating CAD drawings
2. Maintaining material data
3. Building prototypes
4. Repairing customer devices

The job is very interdisciplinary and includes precision mechanics, optics, plastics technology, and electronics. The job holder will work with our Principal Engineer and a network of internal and external engineering experts. He will also be our first service technician and will have the opportunity to carry out installations and repairs at customer sites. An experienced team will support you. Don't worry if you can't cover all of this today.
