Trading is by nature changing and dynamic. The condition for its proper functioning is a seamless control of constantly changing activities. Reporting and analysis tools must be automated and adapted accordingly.

About the Role

As T&S is at the center of the group’s intercompany transactions (EP/MS/RC…), deadlines and accounts must be meticulously managed to avoid significant impacts on the group's overall accounts. The nature of trading activities requires a deep understanding of the business and the ability to react quickly. Collaborates closely with various departments (operations, middle office, etc.) within the entity. Confidentiality and security of accounting data are essential.

Qualifications
  • You have a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Finance and Accounting.
  • You have 1 to 5 years of experience in accounting or financial audit.
  • This opportunity is also open to fresh graduates looking for a first professional experience.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (Sage preferred, SAP).
  • You are rigorous, committed and have a strong sense of organization.
  • You are responsive and able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • You are resilient and versatile and can easily adapt to change.
  • You fluently speak French and English.
  • Strong IT mindset: Skills in Python/Power BI are a significant +.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

What You Will Do

As a Junior Trading Accountant, you will be reporting directly to the Overheads and Treasury Accounting Manager and you will become a member of a team composed of 19 persons. The role will allow you to develop your skills in the field of trading and overhead accounting and to discover the exciting world of energy commodities trading.

Main Responsibilities1. Trading Accounting
  • Ensure accurate recording and verification of provisions and invoices for trading books.
  • Collaborate with Operators to monitor and clean Medissys data.
  • Analyze monthly trading results in collaboration with the Middle-Office Analyst and Trading Operations.
  • Identify and correct accounting discrepancies, with transparent reporting to trading operations.
  • Calculate and interpret finance impacts on the working capital of the trading books.
  • Participate in the external audit, providing insights and responses to auditors within the defined scope.
  • Adapt monitoring processes and follow-up as needed in case of accounting changes or business changes.
2. General Expenses Follow-Up
  • Record and verify provisions, deferred charges, salaries, social charges, expense reports, invoices, and other general expenses, including depreciation and fixed assets.
  • Verify new counterparties (e.g., bank details).
  • Generate and record payments for general expenses and expense reports.
  • Analyze monthly variances between budget and actuals.
  • Verify invoice hedges when necessary.
  • Perform and review monthly group service fee recharges.
  • Monitor General Expense Accounts of other trading entities of the Group.
  • Monitor Dubai-related cash flows.
  • Ensure reconciliation of payroll data provided by HR.
3. IT Development
  • Modernize, maintain and develop IT tools for overhead and trading accounting, considering Python, VBA macros, and/or PowerBI.
  • Provide active support to the team's tech specialists.
4. Other Tasks
  • Prepare the Swiss VAT declaration.
  • Review monthly/quarterly reconciliations with major Group subsidiaries, including purchases and sales of oil and derivatives.
