We are a young and rapidly growing Swiss company, disrupting the world of underwater robotics with the focus on miniaturization, affordability and scale. We develop our own underwater inspection drone platform that has a number of unique technologies, all conceived within the company over the last few years, and we are scaling up production of multiple products. Your Responsibilities

We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to be in charge of R&D and industrialisation of our innovative underwater thrusters. This is an exciting challenge for someone who is passionate about designing and manufacturing unique electrical motor designs. You will optimise and improve the manufacturing processes of our existing thruster products, develop automation tools for production and QC testing, and design new thruster models and related products and accessories. You will be part of a dynamic company in a fast growing robotics sector. You will also have a rare opportunity to shape the future of the product line and see it grow. This versatile job carries high level of autonomy and decision making. We are looking for someone who is multi-disciplinary in the areas of mechanical design, electronics and programming, ideally with a background and interest in electrical motors, who can work independently, contribute good ideas, and who can turn ideas into reality.

  • Improve the performance, quality and manufacturing processes of our existing electric thruster products
  • Assist our production team by creating jigs, test equipment and some automation of production steps
  • Develop and design new thruster models, improve our electronic motor controller, and other accessories
  • Work with suppliers to ensure continuous production with the highest quality
  • Engage with customers to support their projects and requests
  • Assist our marketing team by creating cool product demonstrations
  • Continuously focus on improving processes and workflows
  • Support wider team as necessary
  • Other tasks that are deemed suitable in collaboration with the team, under consideration of current company activities, your experience and skill profile.
Your Qualifications
  • Mechanical design, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly and testing experience
  • Experience in 3D design (preferably Fusion360)
  • Basic programming skills, particularly embedded programming (e.g. Arduino), and Python
  • Experience with rapid prototyping, using hand tools, and tooling machines (CNC/CAM is a plus)
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical motor design is a plus
  • Experience with resin casting, moulding, plastics is a plus
  • Basic electronics design skills, electronics assembly, soldering
  • Experience with CFD using OpenFOAM would be a plus
  • Fluent communication in English
  • Demonstrated “can do” entrepreneurial attitude through experience, who can persevere in achieving goals consistently
  • Excelling at multitasking and prioritization
  • Willingness to travel for tests and deployments
