Verification & Test Engineer

Fotokite develops autonomous, high-endurance tethered unmanned aerial systems to help firefighters and public safety teams save lives.
Fotokite systems allow first responders to quickly and easily gain situational awareness after arriving at emergency scenes: our autonomous one-touch launch/land system makes operation simple and safe; the dual color and thermal camera payload provides situational awareness from the system’s aerial perspective; and actively tethered flight means the system can be flown without a certified pilot, and can be left flying for as long as the situation requires.
This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the qualification of autonomous aerial systems for firefighters and public safety teams. Our systems support emergency responders and public safety agencies in saving lives at any time of the day and in any weather condition; always ready to fly at the press of a button. We are seeking to reinforce our team with a colleague dedicated to continuously improving our product quality, reliability and robustness.
The Verification & Test Engineer ensures development systems comply with requirements and specifications and meet the needs of stakeholders. This includes the definition and execution of system- and subsystem-level testing, designing the necessary testing & documentation processes and defining and implementing the necessary tools.
Be part of our dynamic team, with the potential to grow into a team lead role in case our team continues to develop and scale.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Defines and executes testing, verification, and partially validation (TV&V) strategy for product development
- Defines and implements test procedures, cases, equipment, documentation, and tools for system- and subsystem-level testing
- Conducts tests hands-on and records test results in a structured manner
- Analyses test results and drives mitigations in case of non-compliance
- Works independent from but closely with the development teams to proactively design systems for quality and testability
- Coordinates with the development teams about discipline-specific tests done during development
- Manages all test infrastructure and equipment of our test lab and outdoors test area
- Leads and coaches testers and potentially test engineers
- Participates in definitions and reviews of requirements for new features
- Interfaces with the Operations team to align tests for production and repair
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field
- 5+ years of experience as Verification or Test Engineer for complex technical products involving mechanics, electronics, and software
- Ability to act as a technical allrounder
- Proven ability to work in an independent and structured way
- Possesses a Swiss driving license B
- Experience with testing and test management tools
- Interest in and/or experience with UAS or robotics is helpful
- Fluency in English is required, any other language is a plus
