Cilag AG is a successful international development and manufacturing facility in the pharmaceutical sector of Johnson & Johnson, located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland. At our Schaffhausen site, about 130 people work for the global Janssen Research & Development organization developing innovative treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide.

The analytical development organization in Schaffhausen provides highly specialized and unique support in the areas of marketed products, fills finish pilot plant analytics and device characterization. In this organization, we are offering an outstanding opportunity for a Principal Scientist (100%).

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for supporting and further developing the center of excellence (CoE) for particle/material identification and characterization including fracture analysis.
  2. Understanding the process and urgency of conducting complex investigations in the CoE.
  3. Working with high-end equipment such as Raman, LIBS, SEM-EDX, FT-IR and various types of light microscopes.
  4. Communication with internal and external customers.
  5. Writing scientifically sound and concise investigation reports and preparing presentations in English.
  6. Working in a team-oriented environment and actively living a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

Profile:

  1. M.S. or PhD with experience in material science, analytical or pharmaceutical sciences.
  2. Experienced in a pharmaceutical or other GXP regulated industry.
  3. Eager to become a technical and analytical subject matter expert in this field and practically gain experience over a longer period.
  4. High customer focus and excellent negotiation skills.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
  6. A positive mindset combined with a sense of urgency for proper execution of investigational analyses in a regulated environment.
