OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTIONIn this position, the Logistics Specialist is responsible for:
- Leading and supporting projects and initiatives to continually improve the logistic flows, in collaboration with Logistics Leads as well as with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating and supporting enhancement needs of future ERP, eWOK systems in collaboration with STAAR Solution Architect, IT Team, and Super Users.
- Developing standard practices and best-in-class methods to maximize productivity.
- Supporting handover and smooth transition of projects to operations, including training and documentation updates when needed.
- Collaborating with other departments on cross-functional initiatives.
- Communicating proactively and efficiently at all levels within the organization.
- Leading projects and initiatives of logistic flows from receiving products to shipment to customers, in collaboration with the Logistic Project Lead.
- Performing investigations and analyses (root cause, fit-gap, data collection) to address operational needs.
- Supporting Continuous Improvement activities and implementation of best practices for Logistic Operations and cross-functional teams.
- Leading continuous improvement meetings by preparing agendas and updating KPIs.
- Monitoring reported issue tickets from operations and collaborating with Logistic Leads in the problem-solving process.
- Coordinating handover and smooth transition of projects and initiatives to operations, including training and documentation updates as needed.
- Developing and supporting the creation and maintenance of Logistics KPI dashboards as assigned.
- Performing inventory analysis to ensure required storage capacity and product location based on picking demand.
- Defining future requirements for new or existing system applications and supporting enhancement requests for ERP and eWOK systems in collaboration with Logistics Leads, Logistics Super Users, and STAAR IT.
- Taking the administrator role on the RFSmart & Ship Console systems.
- Organizing training for Logistics operations on newly introduced system features in collaboration with logistic leads and super users.
- Bringing innovation and creativity to logistic processes.
- Backing up the Logistic Project Lead in related matters.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or Project Management with advanced knowledge of Lean Management.
- Green Belt certification is highly preferred.
Special Knowledge
- Previous experience in the medical device and/or pharma industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP/GDP and ISO 13485 standards is preferred.
Languages:
- German or French; English is a must-have.

- Excellent ability to analyze, interpret, and communicate data and information clearly and concisely to decision-makers at all levels.
- Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills; organized and dutiful in task management; outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office applications).
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and functionalities (e.g., Power BI, OTBI).
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in the Manufacturing/Logistics engineering environment.
- Experience in leading medium-range projects in a multicultural environment.
