Fellow in Family Philanthropy (60-100%)
in the Debiopharm Chair for Family Philanthropy.
The Job
Step into the world of family philanthropy. As a Fellow in Family Philanthropy, you'll be at the heart of the action, integrated within the core IMD Global Family Business Center (GFBC) team and collaborating directly with Prof. Peter Vogel, Chairholder of the Debiopharm Chair for Family Philanthropy and Director of the GFBC.
Your mission: to propel the chair's objectives with effectiveness, efficiency and elegance. Key activities & accountabilities
• Enhance the chair's activities by implementing a strategic plan that aligns research, education, and outreach for maximum impact.
• Elevate practitioner-oriented articles with engaging storytelling, robust data analysis, and actionable insights.
• Develop innovative tools and frameworks tailored for family needs, incorporating interactive and user-friendly designs.
• Actively contribute to the advisory board's strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Foster strong, lasting relationships within the philanthropic community by providing regular updates and opportunities for collaboration.
• Represent the chair at philanthropy events with a focus on networking and knowledge exchange.
• Amplify the reach of the Family Philanthropy Navigator through workshops, webinars and strategic partnerships.
• Enrich center activities and programs by facilitating dynamic group work sessions and fostering an environment of shared learning.
• Embrace the culture of collaboration within IMD, encouraging interdisciplinary projects that align with the Chair's mission.
Ideal profile
• Required: PhD in Family Business, Philanthropy, Social Entrepreneurship, Social Impact, Management, or similar fields.
• Demonstrated passion for family philanthropy, family business, social entrepreneurship and impact.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a proactive approach.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities, comfortable engaging with entrepreneurial families.
• Excellent organizational competencies.
• Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently.
• Goal-oriented with a focus on meeting deadlines.
• Resilient, capable of performing under pressure.
• Native or equivalent proficiency in English, with multilingual skills preferred, especially French.
• Proven experience in crafting content for executive-level readership.
• Prior experience in family business management, education or advisory is advantageous.

It has empowered individuals and families to enhance their philanthropic endeavors, ensuring that giving remains a cornerstone of the family enterprise. With an impressive suite of resources like the acclaimed Family Philanthropy Navigator and a wealth of educational materials, the Chair has made significant strides in thought leadership and research.
Looking ahead, the Chair is set to expand its influence by enriching its educational offerings, launching specialized advisory services, and promoting the Navigator worldwide, alongside hosting influential events and developing new tools to support philanthropic families in their missions.
