The role involves conducting complex analyses to determine failure mechanisms in semiconductors, supporting Research & Development and Product Engineering teams, and improving analysis techniques in the laboratory. This position requires a solid understanding of analysis methods and the use of specialist equipment.How You’ll Make An ImpactAnalyze failed devices from internal tests in order to improve yield and reliabilityPerform in-depth investigations of customer returns, using REM/EDX, profilometers, electrical measurement techniques, spreading resistance profiling (SRP), etc.Support troubleshooting and improvement teams within production and R&DImprove electrical and physical analysis techniques as well as chemical preparation processesYour backgroundMaster’s degree in natural sciences (TU, FH, ETH, or similar)Preferably professionals with more than three years of lab experience, but we also welcome applications from highly motivated graduates who have completed their PhD thesisKnowledge of standard failure analysis methods such as SEM/EDX, optical microscopy, hot-spot analysis, electrical characterization, SAM and spreading resistance profilingExperience in failure analysis of semiconductor chips and components (including packaging and materials) is desirableFluent in German and English, both written and spokenMore About UsOur flexible working practices help you optimize personal and business performance while creating an environment where all employees can develop their skills and grow.Hitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
