Lab Assistant

Responsibilities:

1. Manages, oversees, and executes the following in their assigned BSL1 & BSL2:
2. Regular cleaning of the BSL1 & BSL2 laboratories according to the hygiene plan.
3. Waste management including collection and disposal.
4. Lab coat management including adequate supply, collection, and cleaning.
5. Operation and monitoring of dishwasher, drying furnace, and autoclaves.
6. Maintaining stock of common lab consumables.
7. Pipettes calibration support.
8. Participates in the on-call services for CTU excursion.
9. Dry ice area cleaning.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Relevant vocational qualification/training (e.g. lab assistant) or non-related vocational training with several years duration AND relevant professional experience.
2. Proficient with MS Excel and Google Suite.
3. Fluent in German and English (min. B2 Level).
4. Self-motivated and solution-driven individual who can maintain quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
6. Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
7. Team player, self-organized and motivated individual.
8. Meticulous attention to detail.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with efficiency; and capable of handling multiple projects.
10. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
