Introduction
Libattion AG is a Zurich-based startup committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions through innovative battery technology. We produce Energy Storage Systems (ESS) using B-grade Lithium batteries, including Battery Racks (97kWh to 129kWh) and 20ft Containers (1.16MWh to 1.55MWh). As we scale production and aim for robust growth in 2024 and 2025, we are also pioneering the development of second-life battery systems based on recycled batteries from the automotive sector.This new production line, set for 2026, will involve the setup of a specialized facility for processing and reusing these batteries.
Position Overview
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team at Libattion AG. This role is vital to ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards as we stabilize and scale our current ESS production. The Quality Engineer will be instrumental in creating and maintaining quality control systems, both for current ESS products and the upcoming second-life battery line.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Control for Current Production
- Develop and oversee quality control plans for Battery modules, Battery Rack and Container production, ensuring component and final product quality.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections at the Biberist facility, focusing on key components and system integration.
Supplier Quality Management
- Perform new supplier qualification, to ensure they meet our quality standards
- Manage supplier quality to ensure compliance with standards; conduct incoming inspections and collaborate on corrective actions as needed.
Production Process Monitoring
- Implement process control methodologies and monitor quality metrics to support stable production and continuous improvement.
Quality Planning for Second-Life Battery Systems
- Design and implement quality control plans for the upcoming second-life battery production, establishing safety and performance standards
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain quality documentation, report key metrics,and drive continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Register data into the ERP system and collaborate with its development
Required qualifications and skills
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management,
Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years in a Quality Engineer role within a production environment, preferably in energy storage, electronics, or battery-related industries.
- Experience with both production quality assurance and development quality control.
- Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar) and experience implementing quality frameworks.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in quality control methodologies, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC),Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Analysis.
- Familiarity with quality tools and software for tracking and analyzing quality data.
- Strong understanding of battery technology and second-life battery applications is a plus.
