Our client is seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join their EMEA Financial Control & Accounting team close to Basel. This mission is aimed to start as soon as possible. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in Accounting and Controlling, who thrives in a fast-paced and changing environment. You will play a critical role in managing the financial activities of the legal entities impacted by the current internal transformation of the company.

As a Senior Financial Controller, your primary responsibility will be overseeing the coordination, monitoring, reporting, and analysis of the legal entity’s financial statements.

You will implement structured interactions with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring compliance with internal control requirements.

Your role will also involve supporting the business with budgeting and forecasting cycles, providing reports for Provisions/Accruals, and acting as a single point of contact for all internal and external audits.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure delivery and execution of finance actuals, closing and reporting activities for assigned reporting units.
  • Perform sanity checks of the P&L and coordinate variances analysis compared to actuals.
  • Ensure integrity of financial statements and management reports in accordance with international and local statutory accounting standards.
  • Perform Balance Sheet monitoring, including financial variance analysis and understanding of open items.
  • Review integrity and quality of all sub ledgers (including balance reconciliation).
  • Coordinate supporting documentation on accruals, provisions and special items.
  • Monitor the financial closing process.
  • Drive monthly evaluation meetings and follow up on occurred issues and defined improvements actions.
What you bring:
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling, or certified public accountant preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in Accounting/Controlling.
  • Knowledge and experience in a Shared Service environment.
  • In-depth understanding of Finance and Accounting processes.
  • IFRS and local GAAP knowledge and experience with statutory audits.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of ERP systems (SAP R3).
  • Knowledge of Cfin and SAP GR will be a plus.
  • Fluent in English, good command of German.
