Senior Assessment Officer – Area Based Coordination for Sudan, based in Nairobi (Link For External Applicants) This role is offered by IMPACT Initiatives, a Geneva‑based NGO. The position provides a monthly salary of CHF 2 580‑2 640 (pre‑tax) plus a monthly living allowance of USD 300. The role is a 6‑month contract starting December 2025. Over 15 years the organisation has grown to over 200 full‑time international experts and a roster of consultants, implementing assessment, monitoring, evaluation and organisational capacity‑building programmes in more than 30 countries across Africa, the Middle East and North Africa, Central and South‑East Asia and Eastern Europe. Country Profile Sudan has been experiencing escalating conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). Huge numbers of civilians have fled fighting, creating a critical humanitarian crisis with price spikes and widespread food insecurity. Position Profile Responsibilities Lead the development of information systems for the new area‑based coordination models in the Darfurs, in partnership with the ABC coordinators. Actively participate in ABC partner meetings, consultations and MEAL coordination meetings. Conduct high‑level partner systems reviews. Develop analytical frameworks for the ABC IM system. Create harmonised tools and methods for common IM processes, adapted to the context and organisational needs. Draft initial information products such as situation reports. Manage the research cycle end‑to‑end and engage externally with partners. Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and processes. Skills & Experience 3‑5 years of relevant experience in a humanitarian setting (assessments, M&E, research design). Strong research skills; experience in mixed‑methods research with high statistical literacy. Familiarity with the multi‑sectoral humanitarian architecture and knowledge of Sudan or similar context. Excellent verbal, written and synthesis skills; visualisation skills an asset. Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Proficient with Microsoft Office and statistical software (R, SPSS, STATA). Ability to operate in a complex security environment. Fluency in English; Arabic competency an asset. Compensation & Benefits Monthly salary CHF 2 580‑2 640 (pre‑tax) plus living allowance USD 300. Accommodation and food in a guesthouse.
