Senior Data Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to design and build scalable data solutions using Azure Data Services, Power BI, and modern data engineering best practices. You'll work across teams to create efficient data pipelines, optimise databases, and enable smart, data-driven decisions. What You'll Do: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and databases using Azure Data Services for both structured and unstructured data Optimise and monitor database performance, ensuring efficient data retrieval and storage Develop, optimise, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic Develop efficient workflows, automate data processes, and provide analytical support through data extraction, transformation, and interpretation Create and optimise Power BI dashboards and models, including DAX tuning and data modelling; explore additional reporting tools as needed Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure accuracy through quality checks, validation, and consistency measures Implement data security measures and ensure compliance with data governance policies Investigate and support the business in providing solutions for data issues Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to code reviews, and uphold coding standards Continuously evaluate tools, document data flows and system architecture, and improve engineering practices Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and support in hiring, onboarding, and training What You'll Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master Degree is a plus) Proven expertise in designing and implementing data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure SQL Database; certifications are a plus Strong proficiency in SQL development and optimization, good knowledge of NoSQL databases Extensive experience in developing complex dashboards and reports including DAX Knowledge of at least one data analysis language (Python, R, etc.) Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud is advantageous Ability to design and implement data models to ensure efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of structured and unstructured data What's In It For You? · ⚡ Flexibility & Balance: Flexible working hours and work-life balance allow you to tailor work to fit your life. · 🌟 Recognition & Growth: Opportunities for career advancement in a company that values your contributions. · 💼 Hybrid Workplace: Modern workspaces (in Zurich, Zug and Hyderabad as well as our Skyhub in Basel) and a remote-friendly culture to inspire collaboration amongst a globally diverse team. · 🎉 Company-wide Events: Join us for company events to celebrate successes, build teams, and share our vision.
