To support our business, we are looking for an Junior Accountant.

The junior accountant will be a contributor to the legal accounting operations related to the European entities. The role will be part of the European accounting team, reporting to the Head of Finance Europe. The region has 9 legal entities across 7 countries (CH, DE, IT, FR, BE, UK, TUR) and the role is supporting accounting activities across various entities and being part of a team of professionals working to maintain order and transparency for the company finances.

Responsibilities

• Daily booking of transactional entries (A/R - incoming cash payments, A/P - outgoing cash payments)
• Calculating, posting, and processing various journal entries (e.g., accruals, prepayments)
• Perform various Balance Sheet reconciliations (GL ledger vs subledger such as A/R, A/P, payroll/social security related accounts, etc.)
• Support in cash management process, and preparation of bank reconciliations/overview
• Support in Intercompany Balances reconciliations across the region, as well as global counterparties in the USA and Asia
• Support in processing Accounts Payable invoices, Purchase order process transactions bookings, and employee expense processing
• Working closely with sales order administration team on various aspects, such as order releases and invoice-related aspects
• Assist team with VAT returns preparation
• Assist in the region's A/R cash collection process, bad debt monitoring
• Assist in the preparation of monthly/half-yearly/yearly closings in line with Swiss GAAP FER
• Support supervisor in statutory audits and local legal accounting
• Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects and support supervisor and team with ad-hoc tasks
• Actively interacting with peers, suppliers, and other stakeholders

Experience & Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of experience as a junior accountant
• Great attention to detail, good with numbers, and analytical acumen
• Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles
• Proficient in working with ERP (JDE Edwards plus)
• Experience in an international environment across multiple entities, continents is a plus
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• Fluent English and German skills necessary
