Mechanical Design Engineer Sentec is a Swiss-American medical device company specializing in respiratory care. Since its founding in 1999, Sentec utilizes a deep‑tech approach that is founded on advanced science and avant-garde technologies for respiratory patients across care areas. Sentec provides healthcare professionals worldwide with non‑invasive, continuous monitoring and effective therapeutic solutions. Sentec applies the latest scientific results and engineering technologies across the three core platforms transcutaneous monitoring, intrapulmonary percussive ventilation and electrical impedance tomography. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Drive the conceptual design and development of medical device components and systems - from requirement definition through to prototyping and evaluation Create CAD models, technical drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and test specifications Take ownership of verification, validation, and the regulatory documentation related to mechanical assemblies Support the industrialization process and ensure a smooth transition from development to production Assist the procurement team in technical discussions with suppliers Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Microtechnology, Mechatronics or a related field English C1, German B2 and French B1 First industry experience involving CAD design and drawing generation, ideally using CATIA & SolidWorks Good knowledge of materials and processes, especially metals and plastics used in micro‑scale medical device applications Experience in sub‑project management and supplier collaboration Experience in mechanical testing, including type approval, functional validation, and prototype evaluation Experience with coatings and adhesive bonding is a plus Experience with patient‑applied accessories such as medical patches, passive electronic components, or electrodes is a plus Benefits Meaningful work on products that save lives or effectively support patient therapy Flat hierarchies, genuinely interdisciplinary working groups Opportunity to contribute ideas, have an active say and make decisions We are looking forward to hearing from you Please note: Only candidates who are legally authorized to work in Switzerland (e.g., Swiss or EU/EFTA citizens, or holders of a valid Swiss work permit) can be considered for this position.
