Application Engineer Generator Circuit Breaker 80 – 100%

We offer the widest and most modern portfolio of GCBs in SF6 technology across a range of short circuit ratings from 63 kA to 300 kA and continuous currents from 6,300 A to over 50,000 A.
GCBs increase protection of key equipment like generators and power transformers, ensure power plant availability, simplify operational procedures and reduce costs.
We offer unique features like lean manufacturing for the shortest delivery time and the ability to participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) personally or remotely using Remote Factory Acceptance Test (RFAT) from any place with access to an internet connection.
As a key player in the application studies and business development of the GCB market within your designated area, you will align with the Global Product Group strategy. Your role involves building long-term customer relationships and addressing specific customer needs and issues. You will identify and develop sales opportunities by equipping sales organizations with relevant knowledge of products and markets. Additionally, you will serve as the technical advisor for GCB applications, collaborating closely with Engineering, R&D, and Project Management teams.
How you’ll make an impact
- Perform studies of electromagnetic transients in power systems, e.g. short-circuit current, transient recovery voltage, ferro-resonance or insulation coordination.
- Conduct reliability analysis of generator circuit-breakers together with life cycle cost analysis and keep updated statistics of Hitachi Energy installed base.
- Organize and participate in customer workshops and technical trainings.
- Support customers with technical requests.
- Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs, promote customer understanding of GCB offerings, and ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
- Support the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate, advanced and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of demanding offers.
- Provide technical support during technical meetings, product presentations, negotiations and offers product/solution related training.
Your background
- At least 3 years of experience in power engineering roles.
- Good command of EMTP (or ETAP, NEPLAN etc.), MATLAB and AutoCAD with proven experience.
- Business fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional language skills beneficial.
- High customer orientation and pro-active mindset.
- Willingness to travel internationally (30%) and work in a global team.
