This position will be based in Basel or Zurich.Role OverviewOverseeing the on-site operations of a building site while ensuring compliance with occupational safety regulations, and project phases within Life Science facilitiesManaging the sequence of works, overall productivity and the schedule for the project and reporting on progressOverseeing and managing a team of specialist site managers who will each be responsible for managing their respective trade partners to align project objectives with the requirements of Life Science environmentOverseeing the implementation of project quality plans, including site inspections, benchmarking, and compliance with industry and client standards and regulationsCoordinating building acceptance procedures with local authorities, ensuring inspections and documentation meet local regulatory requirementsCoordinating system and building acceptance procedures with the clientRole RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in a construction related field. Alternatively, a technical career through an apprenticeship in constructionField Experience: At least 10 years of experience in a similar position, managing large-scale construction projects within the Life Science sector (pharmaceutical, biotech, or related). Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams. Strong negotiation skillsTechnical Skills: Knowledge of project management software, scheduling software, preferably BIM software (ACC, Navisworks or similar), Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with local Life Science industry regulations, including GMP, FDA, EMA, and local building codesLanguage: Fluency in German and English oral and writtenWorkstyle: Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Strong work ethic with a passion for construction. Proactive, hands-on approach.
