Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Purchasing Manager to join our growing team. As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring our operational efficiency by sourcing high-quality materials and components necessary for the production of our automation and actuator products. You will be responsible for executing purchasing strategies that align with the company's overall goals and objectives. This position will require you to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor market trends to optimize purchasing decisions. You will work closely with production, engineering, and finance teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels effectively, ensuring that all procurement activities are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Your expertise in supply chain management will be essential as you lead a team of purchasing professionals, guiding them to achieve excellence in sourcing and procurement processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Execute purchasing strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  2. Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and delivery terms.
  3. Analyze supplier performance and market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
  4. Collaborate with production, engineering, and finance teams to forecast material requirements.
  5. Manage relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods.
  6. Oversee the purchasing team, providing mentorship and support for professional development.
  7. Prepare and analyze reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or other related sciences.
  2. Ten years of purchasing experience with at least five years in a purchasing management position in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Adaptable and flexible – being open to change in response to new information or unexpected circumstances.
  4. Must have computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  5. Ability to problem-solve with minimal supervision.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  7. Strong organizational skills.
  8. ERP System Experience – Preferably Epicor.
