Job Description:

Sonova’s R&D people leaders act as both line managers and coaches, guiding individuals and groups to success. They work together with technical managers to ensure optimal functioning of the development teams, help remove impediments and foster a collaborative and psychologically safe work environment. They drive employee engagement and talent development and contribute to organizational development.

In this role, you will lead a diverse group of professionals, including software and hardware developers, architects, and project leaders. You will support them in all people-related matters including their growth and collaboration with stakeholders.
You do not need to have a technical background, but you are expected to develop a high-level understanding of their work over time.

Your tasks

  1. Provide line management for your employees, including performance management, training and recruitment
  2. Develop talent through coaching and mentoring, manage conflicts effectively
  3. Contribute to the organizational development of R&D and continuous improvement of existing processes
  4. Guide teams and individuals through change processes, facilitate knowledge sharing
  5. Embody and strengthen company culture and values, foster employee engagement
  6. Manage the supply of both soft and technical skills to our development teams


Your profile

  1. University degree, preferably in Science, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
  2. Additional qualification in coaching and change management is a strong plus
  3. 5+ years of experience in people management, preferably in a technical or research environment
  4. Strong leadership skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to address interpersonal matters
  5. Excellent communication and networking skills, with the ability to advocate for oneself. A positive, proactive, and can-do attitude
  6. Fluency in English, both spoken and written. German language skills are a plus
