Project:
For our customer, a big pharmaceutical company in Basel, we are looking for a highly qualified Technical R&D Senior Associate Scientist.
Background:
In this role, you will work in Analytical Development Synthetic Molecules within Pharma Technical Development. Analytical Development Synthetic Molecules is responsible for developing resource and cost-efficient analytical methods using state-of-the-art methodologies such as High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Ion Chromatography (IC), Mass Spectrometry (MS), and others. The ultimate goal is to establish a robust control strategy to release products for clinical trials and, finally, for commercial supply.
The perfect candidate:
You should possess the following qualifications:
You either have a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree (Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field) OR you have completed a vocational scientific qualification (e.g. apprenticeship) with at least 3-5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on analytical development for peptide analytics.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Development, improvement, and validation of analytical methods for the quality assessment of starting materials, intermediates, reaction monitoring, active substances, and Galenical forms.
- Thorough and efficient planning, execution, and documentation of experiments in collaboration with the relevant team members, analytical project lead, and your supervisor, following current GxP guidelines and relevant SOPs.
- Work on end-to-end processes in close collaboration with associate scientists, scientists, and partners from other departments to ensure efficient analytics and continuous improvement.
- Coordination of analytical activities, including sample management for the development of synthetic products.
- Authoring of documents, e.g., analytical procedures, validation reports, user manuals, SOPs.
Must Haves:
- Hands-on experience in analytical instrumentation and techniques (e.g., HPLC, MS).
- Strong knowledge of LC-MS applications and instruments is a plus.
- A strong interest/background in analytical development for peptides.
- Experience in the field of large molecules/biologics analytics is a plus.
- A good scientific writing style and good documentation practice for regulatory filings.
- Excellent digital skills and an innovative mindset.
- Preparedness to learn, continuously improve, and apply novel ideas, tools, and processes to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
- Self-motivated, open-minded, proactive, reliable, goal-oriented, and an excellent team player.
- Open to new ways of working and support our team in achieving more flexibility and agility.
- Excellent command of the English language; good command of the German language is a plus.
- A stringent quality mindset and excellent attention to detail.
- Routinely apply GxP requirements where necessary and understand how to exert them in different clinical phases.
