You will manage complex technical projects, help define the future of hybrid regulations, and ensure compliance at the track. Your expertise will be critical in shaping the next generation of Formula 1 powertrain technology. You will report to the Electric and Hybrid Power Unit Manager.MISSIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:EV SYSTEMS PROJECT MANAGEMENT & REGULATION:Take ownership of technical projects in the field of electric motors, batteries, and power electronics for F1.Contribute to defining future regulations for energy recovery systems and related EV safety standards.Participate in Technical and Safety Working Groups with F1 stakeholders.Support the definition, launch, and analysis of Invitations to Tender for F1 EV solutions.Liaise with other FIA departments, including Electronics, Single Seater, and Performance & Simulation.SOFTWARE ANALYSIS & TRACKSIDE SUPPORT:Conduct in-depth software investigations during the homologation process to understand and approve Power Unit Manufacturer code.Perform data analysis using tools like Atlas, Wintax, Python, and Matlab to ensure software and hardware compliance with the technical regulations.Attend F1 races and tests to support the activities of the Powertrain group.Assist with the inspection of powertrain electrical systems at race events and manufacturer facilities.PROFILE:Engineering degree with a strong focus on Electrical and Hybrid Powertrain Engineering or EV solutions.At least 5 years of post-graduate experience in EV and Software engineering within a high-level motorsport environment (F1, WEC, Formula E) is mandatory.Excellent understanding of electric motor and power electronic technologies.Expertise in EV system architectures, integration, and operational safety best practices (high and low voltage).Expertise in HV battery technologies and experience with energy recovery control strategies.Strong background in software code writing, analysis, and processing.Expertise in data analysis using tools such as Atlas, Wintax, Matlab, and Python.Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment.Native or fluent English (written and spoken) is required.This position is based at the FIA offices in Geneva and requires travel to up to 10 events per season, including races, tests, and visits to PU Manufacturer facilities.Deadline to apply:November 7th, 2025If you are an experienced engineer in hybrid technology and motorsport, please send us your CV and cover letter.The FIA is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
