Job Description:

The Payroll Manager position is responsible for managing a team that processes a large volume, multiple entity and complex payrolls. You are the main contact and SME for the payrolls you support. You will work with Payroll Vendors and TLM Administrators to support your team in processing payroll, providing all appropriate payroll input, ensuring integrations are delivered and validating data before it is transferred to the vendor. You will collaborate with the Global Payroll Process Lead to identify process improvements related to the payrolls, document requirements and support payroll testing.

You will report to the Head of Payroll EMEA and support payrolls for Germany and Switzerland; experience in one or both will be an advantage. We offer a flexible and hybrid working model.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

1. Ensures payrolls are processed accurately, on time and in accordance with all federal, state, local and regulatory requirements.
2. Manages the payroll team based in Switzerland and Germany, ensuring team development and support in meeting service level agreements and targets.
3. Acts as the first point of escalation for all payroll-related matters, responding to complex employee payroll queries escalated from the Service Centre.
4. Interprets policies and regulations regarding leaves, disability, allowances, one-time payments, and garnishments, working with payroll vendors to ensure correct application through payroll.
5. Identifies and collaborates with the Global Payroll Process Lead to implement process improvements within assigned payrolls.
6. Works with the Global Compliance & Audit Lead to support internal/external audit processes, ensuring regular finance, compliance, and audit reporting is delivered on time. Leads audits and reconciliations of payroll data.
7. Reviews payroll policies and procedures, ensuring payroll calendars and processing schedules align with organizational policies.
8. Collaborates with the Global Payroll Process Lead to define payroll requirements related to payroll projects or enhancements, performs User Acceptance Testing, documents results, and ensures user guides are updated.
9. Ensures compliance with all federal/state and regulatory requirements.

Your Profile:

1. Bachelor's degree in HR/Accounting or Diploma in Payroll.
2. 6-8 years of experience managing a large payroll team processing end-to-end payroll for multiple countries with over 4500 employees total. Exposure to TLM, taxation, audit, and compliance.
3. Strong payroll team management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
4. Strong leadership and engagement, with high-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
5. Process management and business process analysis competencies, with demonstrated ability to support complex HR/Payroll models.
