OVERVIEW

Nonviolent Peaceforce (NP) is a dynamic, international non-governmental organisation. We work with people affected by violent conflicts to enhance their security and dignity through Unarmed Civilian Protection (UCP). We work to reduce violence, protect civilians in countries affected by violent conflict and its aftermath, and help transform the world's response to conflict situations.

JOB SUMMARY

The Programme Manager plays a pivotal role in providing technical oversight and guidance to the NEST project, a multi-year project spanning four countries: the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Sudan, and Iraq. This role ensures coherence, meticulous planning, and alignment with NP's global mandate and strategy across all project locations. Collaborating closely with the teams in-country and with Global Support Services, the Programme Manager continuously monitors, assesses, and adapts project implementation to ensure effectiveness and adherence to deliverables, budgets, and commitments. They also work with in-country and Global Support Services colleagues to advocate for the programme impacts and outcomes with key external stakeholders. The Programme Manager's expertise extends to providing operational, strategic planning, and budget-related support to program staff, facilitating the implementation of civilian protection and violence-prevention programming in diverse contexts affected by conflict. Programme Manager ensures that the project not only achieves its immediate goals but also lays the groundwork for sustainable, long-lasting impact in each country.

  • Represent NP in relevant coordination, advocacy, and governmental meetings/fora as needed.
  • Act as a crucial link between locally led adaptive programming by country teams and policy influencing led by NP's global advocacy team.
  • Support culturally diverse teams and facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders involved.
  • Provide operational, strategic planning, and budget-related support to program staff for implementation of civilian protection and violence-prevention programming.
  • Foster sustainable, enduring impact beyond immediate project goals by laying the groundwork for long-term success in each country.
