Senior Software Engineer (Frontend Focused), FinTech

We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer, Frontend Focused, to join the FinTech team in Zurich. You’ll be at the heart of building and evolving critical marketplace systems that power complex financial functionalities, including:

  • Seamless checkout process
  • Inbound and outbound payment systems

Team Mission

The mission of the FinTech team is to provide a seamless checkout and payment experience to our customers. As a senior engineer in the team, with a strong focus on the front end, you will work primarily on our web application, from the point where a product is added to a shopping cart to the confirmation of the booking and beyond. You will also contribute to the backend services and APIs that power the checkout experience, driving the evolution of our financial platform to ensure the correct, timely, and cost-effective processing of payments.

Your tasks will range from adding new features to defining and implementing architectural evolution, working with leading FinTech industry partners such as payment service providers, and improving monitoring and stability.

You will:
  • Work in a cross-functional mission team with engineers, designers, and analysts
  • Help to enable your mission team to iterate fast and learn about our customers by designing, launching, and iterating on A/B experiments
  • Continuously improve our code base, systems, and processes
  • Design and develop efficient solutions that can continue to scale
Who you are
  • Product- and data-centric prioritization and decision-making. You have experience in defining and tracking data to facilitate decisions, for example, by means of A/B testing.
  • You’re a positive, proactive team player who is passionate about their craft. You have the capacity to mentor others and to share your knowledge.
  • High proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS (SASS), and a component-based frontend framework such as Vue.js, React, or Angular.
  • You are comfortable contributing to Node.js, Java, and PHP codebases.
  • A passion for delivering clean and well-tested code. You continuously learn about new tools, languages, and practices to facilitate development and improve quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to others
Bonus points for:
  • Experience with Vue.js and server-side rendering
  • Experience with SpringBoot Java services
  • Cloud DevOps, Kubernetes, and distributed systems expertise
  • Experience working with relational databases (MySql, PostgreSQL)
