We like to program in pairs, challenge our knowledge, and share what we learn—because growing together is part of what we do best.About The RoleWellD is looking for a Application Support Engineer to join a key client project in the enterprise sector.In this role, you’ll work on-site (hybrid model) as part of the client’s technical team. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing monitoring systems that ensure stability, security, and high performance across critical IT services.This is a consulting position, and you'll collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams in a complex, structured environment.Where you’ll workThe position is based in Southern Switzerland, with a hybrid on-site/remote setup (4 days per week in the office and 1 day working remotely). Please note that our remote work policy may be subject to change in accordance with Swiss and cross-border legislationWhat You'll DoDesign, configure, and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace).Manage and harden Linux environments, including firewall rules and certificate management.Develop solutions to automate diagnostics and monitoring tasks.Support and troubleshoot Java-based applications (Spring Boot, Maven).Query and analyze data from Oracle databases to extract monitoring insights.Work closely with internal client teams, finding errors and suggesting improvements.Participate in incident response and root cause analysis.Support onboarding and integration of other teams.What We're Looking ForMust-have skillsStrong experience with Linux system administration, including firewall and certificate handling.Hands-on experience with Splunk and Grafana for monitoring and visualization.Scripting skills in Bash for automation and monitoring tasks.Good understanding of Java, Spring Boot, and Maven.Ability to query and analyze data in Oracle DB.Analytical mindset and a structured approach to troubleshooting.Fluency in both Italian and English is required.Nice-to-have skillsExperience with Ansible and Ansible Tower.Familiarity with SAML, OAuth/OIDC, and SOAP protocols.Exposure to Jenkins, Kafka, Docker, and Argo CD.Understanding of Nevis (proxy, admin, key box) and mod_qos.Architectural awareness of secure and distributed systems.Proficiency in German is a plus.What We OfferWe offer a full-time permanent contract and competitive Swiss salaries…plus all the perks of being part of WellD:MacBook Pro and the gear you need to work comfortably.Swiss public transportation pass.Annual training budget for conferences, certifications, and courses.Access to our tech book library – and if it’s not there, we’ll order it for you.Hack Days, MeetUps, Escape Rooms, Tech Lunches – all fully supported by WellD.Gadgets (tech and non-tech) and unlimited coffeePlease note: This position is open to Swiss or EU/Schengen citizens with valid working/residency permits.
