Activities: Naval engineering: Heavy equipment, welded structures and lifting.

Your mission:

  • Support APCO’s design office and subcontractor for welding related topics (approximately 30% of your time):
    • Coordinate with the design office and calculation office for validating the welded joints design, welding drawings, and control the feasibility of the welded structures.
    • Assess the methods and techniques planned for manufacturing the welded structures from the design.
  • Be responsible for welding quality requirements (approximately 30% of your time):
    • Define the quality requirements for manufacturing the welded structures by our subcontractors.
    • Verify the technical documentation emitted by our subcontractor before the beginning of the manufacturing (Welding books, manufacturing method statements, etc.).
    • Be the focal point for our subcontractor and our inspection department for the manufacturing topics and treatment of the non-conformance report (NCR).
  • Specify and commission the welding equipment integrated into the machines designed by APCO (approximately 10% of your time).
  • Participate in the robotic development in welding and associated techniques (approximately 30% of your time):
    • Organize, support, and/or perform testing of welding and associated processes to define the operating parameters to be implemented on the robotic application.
    • Define the technical requirements for the integration of the processes within the new robotic solutions.

Your profile:

  • Possessing a mechanical or material engineering degree with a specialization in welding (IWE diploma).
  • Having a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of manufacturing welded structures, including knowledge in all stages of manufacturing (design, welding, NDT, and final documentation).
  • Having strong knowledge in heavy steel building and welded structures.
  • Possessing leadership, critical thinking, autonomy, and the ability to manage priorities.
  • Mastering 3D modeling (CATIA V5) is beneficial.
  • Willing to travel in Switzerland and abroad for short or long durations (approximately 30% of your time) to meet our subcontractors or our customers.
  • Speaking and writing fluently in French and English (minimum C1 level), ideally being a French native speaker.
