A talented Method and Process Engineer with a strong background in photonics, semiconductor processes, and precision manufacturing to develop, optimize, and industrialize production methods for advanced optical and optoelectronic components. You will play a key role in bridging R&D and manufacturing, ensuring process capability, yield, and scalability for high‑precision photonic devices and assemblies. Process Development & Optimization Develop, characterize, and optimize manufacturing processes for photonic and semiconductor components Define and validate process parameters through structured experimentation (DoE, SPC, MSA) Establish process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and control plans to ensure robustness and repeatability Lead process capability and yield improvement initiatives (Cpk, defect analysis, root cause elimination) Translate R&D concepts into manufacturable and scalable industrial processes Define and implement assembly, bonding, and alignment methods for photonic and optoelectronic devices Specify, validate, and integrate production and inspection equipment Support new product introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transfer to production Photonics & Semiconductor Expertise Apply semiconductor process knowledge (e.g., die attach, wire bonding, hermetic sealing) to photonic component assembly Contribute to the development of optical coupling and packaging techniques Work closely with optical, mechanical, and electronic engineers to ensure optical and thermal performance compliance Implement in‑line monitoring, process control, and data‑driven decision‑making using PLC‑connected equipment Participate in the design of experiments and statistical validation of process changes Documentation & Compliance Create and maintain detailed process documentation, work instructions, and validation protocols Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality systems as applicable Support audits and contribute to risk assessments and corrective actions What do you need to be instrumental in this role? Master’s or PhD in Photonics, Microtechnology, Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering, or related field with at least 3 years of experience in process or method engineering within the photonics, semiconductor, or precision optics industry. You have a strong understanding of photonics manufacturing processes (e.g., optical alignment, fiber coupling, laser packaging) and an excellent knowledge of semiconductor backend processes (die bonding, wire bonding, hermetic sealing). You are proficient with statistical process control, metrology, and automation systems. You are familiar with optical characterization and have a good knowledge of ESD control, and precision handling. You have a strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally with R&D, production, and quality teams. You have excellent documentation and communication skills in English (French or German is a plus). Experience working in a start‑up is a real plus. What DNA profile is expected?
