ABOUT THE JOB:

The primary goal of the VP Sales in digital marketplaces is to drive our client’s objectives in the eCommerce space. These objectives include quantitative goals (revenue, volume, profit, and share) and qualitative goals (online presence, top retail relationships, training, and development).

Our brand, portfolio and products touch over 50M consumers each year with Billions of units sold annually through our core channels Retail, On Premise, Off Premise, Industrial, QSR, HORECA, MT, TT and more recently digital marketplace platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing eCommerce strategies: Crafting approaches that enhance our online presence and drive sales, revenues, strategic brand awareness.
  • New account acquisition: Expanding our reach by identifying and securing new accounts, suppliers, marketplace, B2B and B2SmallB
  • Leading the Account team: Managing a team that delivers results with top eCommerce, suppliers, and Specialty customers.
  • Partnering with sales leadership: Collaborating with other sales leaders to oversee HQ-related projects focused on new business development.

You will ensure that the sales organization is equipped with the right initiatives, resources, and direction to achieve these goals, thereby driving our success in the eCommerce channel.

Your Responsibility:

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Develop Long-Term eCommerce Strategies: Formulate comprehensive strategies and initiatives for the eCommerce channel, aligning with company direction, focus areas, key customers, market parameters, and resources.
  • Data Analysis and Action Planning: Quickly aggregate and analyze complex data to create clear, actionable plans. Allocate resources to maximize ROI in strategic regions or with important customers.
  • Annual Business Planning: Lead the business planning process for the eCommerce accounts team, channel programs, and tactics. Monitor market trends and maintain competitive data.

OVERSIGHT OF ECOMMERCE CHANNELS

  • Lead eCommerce Developments: Drive the growth of eCommerce channels, including Pure Play, Brick & Click, and Delivery.
  • Enhance Relationships: Improve relationships with top chain accounts through expertise and strategic partnerships.
  • Evaluate and Adjust Investments: Assess ROI for each chain and channel, making necessary adjustments.
  • Provide Clear Direction: Issue guidelines and priorities, both qualitative and quantitative, for the eCommerce team.
  • Channel Leadership: Develop thought leadership and manage outside vendors to achieve the #1 market position.
  • Resource Assessment: Evaluate and manage the structure and external to maximize impact in the evolving eCommerce landscape.

PARTNERSHIPS

  • HQ Integration: Work with HQ teams to ensure seamless eCommerce integration and support new business development initiatives.
  • Strategy Integration: Lead the strategic integration of eCommerce strategies into Small and Large Format Accounts Teams.
  • Support HQ Sales Initiatives: Coordinate and support HQ Sales & Distribution (HQSD) eCommerce initiatives.

MANAGEMENT

  • Program Development: Assist account managers in creating successful programs and initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Spend time with the team both in the office and the field to implement standards in-store and online. Develop thought-leading initiatives and insights to influence national strategy.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • 12+ years of experience in FMCG; food or beverage experience is an advantage
  • Experience in Regional or National account management, eCommerce and large format experience is an advantage. A leader who has built a sustainable E-com operating platform or has significantly driven revenues 10-fold.
  • Experience working with a DSD, Direct, and 3PL network
  • Negotiation experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Experience analyzing complex trends and data
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in English; additional language skills are an advantage
  • 40% travel will be required throughout Europe, Asia and the US markets
